A Quick Note on Warranties and How We Support You
Hey everyone, it’s The Local IT Guy here. We love helping you stay connected, but I wanted to take a moment to be transparent about how we handle product warranties and ongoing support. This will help us avoid surprises down the road and ensure we can continue providing great service to everyone.
The 30-Day Promise
When we finish an install, we don’t just shake your hand and leave. We offer a free 30-day support period. If anything goes wrong in that first month—whether it’s a configuration glitch or a problem with our work—we’re on it. If it’s a faulty product, we’ll guide you through the manufacturer’s warranty claim.
The Hard Truth About Hardware
Here’s the thing: electronics can fail. They can be DOA (Dead on Arrival), or they can die six months down the line. When we recommend a product, we’re recommending the best solution for your needs—not a magic device that will never break.
We do not carry the warranty on the products we sell. Every piece of equipment comes with a manufacturer’s warranty (usually 12 months). If a router or access point fails eight months after installation, that is a manufacturer warranty issue, not a “Local IT Guy” service issue.
The “Cheap Product” Dilemma
We always try to work with your budget. But if you ask us to install a budget-friendly device and it fails, please remember: we are not liable for that failure. We will happily come out to replace it, but that visit will be subject to our standard call-out fee, as it falls outside the initial 30-day window and is a hardware failure—not a failure of our installation.
Bottom Line
We are here to provide expert installation and support. We stand by our workmanship. However, we cannot stand by the long-term reliability of every piece of hardware in existence, especially if it was purchased by you elsewhere or chosen based on price over performance.
Thank you for understanding. It’s this clarity that allows us to keep doing what we do best: fixing your internet!
