Concordia Boutique Hotel & Venue is a premium hospitality property paying for a high-speed Gigabit internet connection. However, due to an infrastructure heavily reliant on daisy-chained switches and ageing wireless Point-to-Point (PtP) links, the actual user experience across the property was severely degraded.

While the main router received a full 1Gbps feed, guests and staff in the outbuildings were averaging speeds of less than 10Mbps. Compounding the speed issues, the network suffered from severe latency spikes averaging 30ms, alongside an unmanaged wireless setup where every single access point broadcasted its own unique, individual SSID. This forced guests to manually reconnect as they moved between the hotel blocks, restaurant, and conference venues.

The Solution: A Dedicated Fibre Backbone & Centralised Gateway

• Physical Infrastructure Overhaul: We completely eliminated the legacy wireless PtP links. Our team trenched and routed 800 meters of outdoor-grade fibre optic cable across the property, deploying dedicated fibre uplinks to interconnect 5 strategic switch locations back to the core node.
• Core Network Management: We integrated a UniFi Cloud Gateway Ultra (UCG-Ultra) at the primary internet link to handle heavy throughput, traffic routing, and network management.
• Logical Consolidation: We swept the property, resetting and reconfiguring 15 distributed wireless access points. The chaotic individual SSIDs were replaced with a centralised wireless management system broadcasting 4 unified, property-wide networks (including dedicated channels for guests and staff).
