The client wanted to extend fibre WiFi coverage to create a whole-home mesh wifi network. The Local IT Guy was invited to a lovely home in La Como Lifestyle Estate, Boksburg to install the TP-Link Deco E4 mesh WiFi nodes. We responded to the call immediately and arrived on site within an hour of the request.

Upon arrival, the client explained to us that they bought the TP-Link Deco E4 and tried to install it. The Deco E4 comes with an easy-to-follow quick start guide manual. The client tried to follow the given instructions but failed to get the deco nodes to connect to the internet.

We then reset the deco node to begin the setup process. We continued by connecting the deco node to the MWEB Fibre router and waited for the lights on the Deco node to blink. Once a connection was established we continued to set up the other node upstairs just at the passage with a clear line of sight to the main node. We waited for the additional node to pair and connect to the main node.

Once both nodes have linked to each other and sharing the internet access from the home fibre router. We then continued with advanced settings to enable QoS and fast roaming. Beamforming technology was also enabled to give all connected devices maximum performance without slowing down the network.
