Behind the 5-Star Service: How Safety and International Standards Drive Our Network Installations
Delivering exceptional network performance across Gauteng takes more than just technical know-how—it requires an unwavering commitment to safety, professionalism, and quality craftsmanship. At Local IT Guy, our 5-star rating isn’t a coincidence. It is the direct result of rigorous training, strict safety protocols, and adherence to global installation standards on every job we undertake.
Here is how our team ensures that every residential network or commercial infrastructure project is executed safely, cleanly, and reliably.
Certified Safety for Every Height
Whether running high-speed connectivity to a multi-story commercial building or mounting access points along elevated residential ceilings, network installations often require working at height.
- Medical Fitness & Clearance: Every Local IT Guy technician undergoes regular medical evaluations to ensure they are physically fit to work at heights.
- Specialised Height Training: Our team receives comprehensive instruction on ladder safety, fall-arrest systems, scaffolding, and elevated work platform procedures.
- Site Regulations: We strictly observe safety compliance standards whether working inside a private residence or navigating a heavy-duty commercial site.
More Than Paperwork: Compliance That Shows in the Work
Safety files and regulatory paperwork are essential, but training isn’t done just to decorate a Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) file. For our technicians, safety and compliance are active daily practices.
- Risk Assessments: Before a single cable is pulled, technicians evaluate site-specific hazards, secure work areas, and equip themselves with the necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Safe Environments: We prioritise the safety of both our crew and your property, maintaining clean, hazard-free zones throughout the installation process.
Engineered to International Standards
A safe installation must also be a high-performing one. Beyond physical safety, our professional network installations follow recognised international standards for structured cabling.
- Structured Cabling Standards: We deploy Cat6 and Cat6a cabling following precise layout, bend-radius, and termination protocols. This eliminates interference, protects signal integrity, and prevents premature cable degradation.
- Neat & Labelled Pathways: From commercial server racks to residential Mesh WiFi access points, we organise, label, and secure all cable runs for long-term stability and easy future maintenance.
- Testing & Quality Assurance: Every installation undergoes thorough testing to verify bandwidth capabilities, ensuring you get the seamless, high-speed connection you paid for.
