Supersonic Fibre WiFi Coverage In Your Home
Having WiFi dead zones in your house is the most unpleasant feeling ever. We work with a lot of customers who are struggling with WiFi signals in their homes. We support Supersonic Fibre customers in the Midstream area with boosting of Wifi signals all through the house using Mesh routers or ceiling access points.
In order to get a WiFi signal to every room in the house we recommend that you place your router in a central place. In places like the Midstream Estates, you’re often somewhat limited in your router locations as it is installed outside the house. For you to have the signal where you want it you will need to install LAN cables going to the areas with poor signal and either install routers or access points.
Old Routers can cause poor WiFi performance
An old, out-of-date router can cause poor WiFi performance—especially at the edges of your network. If you’ve had the same router for more than 2 years and notice issues like your network going down frequently, it’s time for an upgrade. If you are still using an N300 router and are using the latest mobile devices you’ll notice that the network is very slow despite you having the best data bandwidth. Upgrading to a WiFi router will ensure your smart devices are compatible with your network and that will improve your WiFi performance.
Install ethernet cables for consistent performance
Wired internet connections are inherently faster and more reliable than WiFi, so using wired connections can improve your internet experience—especially for high-traffic devices like PCs, gaming consoles, or smart TVs. You can use WiFi for your mobile devices and smart devices that only connect via WiFi and the other devices like your smart TV it is recommended that you connect a LAN cable directly for consistent connectivity.
If you’re looking for some hardcore internet coverage in your home, you can run Ethernet cables through your walls. Then you’ll have Ethernet jacks throughout your home so you can plug in computers, gaming consoles, Wi-Fi access points, or whatever else into a wired connection.
